[Chris Barker]

Chris Barker graduated in Earth Sciences in 1992 and began work in environmental field work, producing a number of scientific publications.

He then moved into broadcast television working on presenter-led and documentary programmes with ‘Crocodile Hunter’ Steve Irwin, Hollywood animal handler Jules Sylvester and actors Ronald Top and Mark Williams.

Later came the multi-award winning animal soap Meerkat Manor, a long-running series about Lemurs in Madagascar and a feature length documentary about Meerkats.

Chris has worked on more than 100 productions in the United Kingdom and abroad for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, and FIVE, The Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, National Geographic and many more.

His work has taken him all over the world and his experience ranges from researcher to cameraman, editor, assistant producer, writer, director, producer and series producer.
